Formerly the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps, the SeriousFun Children’s Network is the world’s largest family of therapeutic camps for children with serious illnesses and life-threatening conditions. One of Hasbro’s longtime partners, SeriousFun creates opportunities for children and their families to reach beyond serious illness to discover joy, confidence and a new world of possibilities. The camps eliminate all obstacles to a child’s participation; there is no cost to the family for a child to attend. Activities are designed to empower all campers to experience success despite their disease or disability.
Our partnership with the SeriousFun supports Family Weekends at three camps near Hasbro operating facilities – Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, Ashford, CT; Camp Korey, Carnation, WA and Barretstown Camp, County Kildare, Ireland. SeriousFun camps conduct weekend programs for families throughout the fall, winter and spring. These special weekends offer campers who have been to summer camp the chance to reunite and introduce other families to camp, helping them feel comfortable sending their child away for a week. The experience enables families to bond and offers them a respite from the daily challenges that accompany illness, helping to foster connections with other camp families. Hasbro also supports the Outpost Program at the Painted Turle Camp in Lake Hughes, CA. This program delivers the camp experience in playrooms of clinics and medical facilities, as well as at kids’ hospital bedsides.
In fact, during these Family Weekend programs, campers have a chance to "play with the pros" as Team Hasbro employees volunteer parts of their weekend to host Hasbro Game Days while in session!
